Argentina Aviation Museum

Sun Mar 20, 2011 10:53 am

Last week I could visit Argentina's Museo Nacional de Aeronáutica. It is located at Morón Air Base and hosts several types of interest, especially those built in Argentina by FMA (Pulqui I & II, IA-35 Huanquero, Focke Wulf 44, etc). I did a video (somebody called it a documentary) showing the exhibits, sadly another hangar containing 14 other planes was closed for maintenance. The link is:

How far from BA Centro is the museum? Do you know if there is public transport available from BA to the museum?

Thank you for an excellent tour! I especially enjoyed seeing the Lincoln (my soft spot for four-engined machinery, you know  ).

Hi RobC,

Morón is some 30 Km from BA downtown, I reached there boarding a train between Plaza Miserere to Morón station, then a bus (Number 166) that brings you out to the air base. Transport prices are very low there, and if you need any further help just contact me.

Best regards.

During my visit to Argentina's EAA Chapter 722 airshow, I pictured the North American TB-25J Mitchell 'Huaira Bajo', plane that spent almost 40 years in the open at Santiago del Estero airport. It was recovered by the Argentine pilot Gustavo Passano and he expects to have it flying in some five years. Also on the video, moving the Aero L-29 Delfin (former N129BE) to the grass runway of Ildefonso Durana airfield:
