my brother told me about a quantity ww 2 era of 364 or 346 (can't remember quantity, but it's 1 or the other) of u.s. ww 2 era propaganda / war effort posters that were found in a building of giant proctor & gamble inc., of cincinnati ohio who make many home consumer products. i guess they were stored in total darkness, & luckily under ideal conditions regarding atmosphere of humidity, heat etc. he found the article in a major ohio newspaper. they are supposed to be in like new condition!! posters such as " loose lips sink ships" "buy war bonds", "coming right up" i'm sure many of you know the classics!! & they are their. what a find!!! they will go up for auction & should each fetch between $ 750.00 to $ 1000.00 each. a a liberal estimate at best. would love to at least see them after 65 + years, let alone by a few who were privy to their discovery.

I was fortunate a few years ago to get a whole pile of War Bond, Home Front and News Map posters (over 200)!
They weren't in as great a condition as those stored in the dark, but they were very good and I still have most of them.
The art work is great!

thanks for finding the link!! no doubt they will go to a high prifile auction house. this will be 1 to follow. in regard to the paper quality........ if they were stored in the same atmosphere conditions as my silhouette i.d. posters they should be fine when framed & matted with 100% acid free stock paper.

It'll be interesting to see what they bring, I'm amazed @ some of the appraisals for old posters given by the guy with the horse blanket suits on 'Antiques Roadshow'
