Hoping someone here can identify what type of aircraft this piece came from. A hiker found this piece in the mountains of Washington a couple years back. I have not seen the piece in person, but it appears to be of honeycomb construction.

Might not be enough there to know for sure. I doubt it is from a crash unless there is a debris field. Things like this fall off of planes all the time. Moisture gets inside the panel and weakens the honeycomb core, and the mosture can also freeze and pop the skins off of a panel.

The placard appears to be Boeing so I'd guess (and only a guess) that it came off some time ago due to the degradation of the paper honeycomb on the inner surface, could have been from a test flight, or just came off a commercial flight. Is there a p/n stencilled on the corner of the placard? it would be pretty small like .06 and would start BACXXXXXXXXXX
