P-51 Wee Willy II

I would like to know just how much of the old Red Baron racer made it into Steve Hintons Wee Willy II.
Was there anything substantial, or was it a lot of bits and pieces?

I have no real basis for this other than my own thoughts. I'd say data plate and n number. Maybe a few other bits. Rb51 was pretty special and that combined with the crash (Steve Hinton used several "lives" in that one) there couldn't be much else to use.

Being lucky is a good thing.

The Red Baron's wings were used by John Marlin on his MB-5 replica. The canopy and vertical stabilizer are on display in Chino.

One last thought, thank God Steve survived to be the leader in the warbird movement, he's a true asset to everything we love to see...all those beautiful birds in the air where they belong!

When I was in Reno for the 93 races I met (by chance) Bill Rogers and Dick Ransopher. At the time Rogers was showing around photos of a small scale mock- up for what was to become "Miss Ashley II", but he did acknowledge that he (and his brother?) had some parts of the Baron located north of Dallas. No idea if they still have them though.

They did have a few small pieces of he Baron. I think they were planning a new build fuse and wings, but it never materialized.
