That would be B-26K "Special K", owned by Greatest Generation Aircraft (the Pacific Prowler guys). Not VFM's machine, but eventually to be restored to flying condition in full Southeast Asia regalia.

The F-86 probably wouldn't be too hard to return to flight, except that we need an ENGINE and a LOT OF $$$. Are you typed in a Sabre?

The latest update on "Hoodlehead" is that a crew of us are going to head to Midland on April 1st with the goal of getting the A-26 ready for the short trip to Ezell Aviation in Breckenridge. We just need to cowl her up, do a good preflight and fix a couple of minor squawks. Hopefully she can make the trip on either Saturday afternoon or Sunday morning.
As previously stated, once in the hands of Nelson, the corrosion issue will be addressed and some other maintenance will be taken care of as well. From there it's off to the paint shop, then finally home to the Vintage Flying Museum!
The Invader Squadron has officially moved into thier new digs in the Vintage Flying Museum hangar. The name of the meeting room/office/bar area the "Kunsan Kabana" after the name of the Officer's Club at Kunsan in the 1950's. Even while waiting on the arrival of the A-26, we are moving forward with preparations for it's arrival so we can start flying as soon as she arrives

Looking forward to seeing "Hoodle Head" when she arrives. Took my dad out to VFM a couple of weekends ago and saw the CAF banner up in the hanger. Also saw the B-26K....will be neat to see both together.

Scuttlebutt around the hangar this weekend was that the Invader Squadron is hoping to fly the A-26 from Midland to Breckenridge this coming weekend. Of course, coming from me, that's an unsubstantiated rumour and should be taken as such. I know they still have some work to do on her to get her into ferry condition for the hop to Ezell's. I haven't heard an estimate on when the Invader will be arriving at VFM, but I'm sure once a date is known or projected, someone from the Squadron will post it here on WIX. As for me, I'm really looking forward to her arrival! It will be cool to have two Invaders in the hangar! (even though I don't get to work on either of 'em)

A team of us went out to Midland last weekend to prep "Hoodlehead" for her flight to Nelson Ezell's. All went well, we troubleshot an intermittent RH MLG down indication problem to a sticky microswitch, serviced the nose strut and just did a good preflight in general. Buddy Cooksey did a full run up and brief taxi around the ramp to check out the braking and steering. We also gave her a much needed bath, she was looking pretty ragged. The original plan was to fly her out last Sunday, however due to pilot schedule issues it has been delayed until this coming weekend.

nice indeed. I note no brakes on co-pilot's side. Any idea if you'll install some. My Invader is the same. but I'd like to fit brakes there. Any ideas???
