I remember a surplus store in Santa Rosa CA. in the late 70's early 80's. You couldn't miss it, had a halftrack in yard, a ma duece on its tripod on roof, everything from a drone aircraft to a torpedo, bazookas, and anything else you could think of. sure miss it.

I couldnt agree more.I looked at those engines from top to bottom when they were there. One day I bought the latest issue of Air Classics and in the news section was a little B+W photo and a few paragraphs about the "Kee Bird".After that I looked for more info about it.Years later,I followed Greenamayers attempt to fly Kee Bird out.I almost cried when he torched it.I thought that maybe someone would retrieve the bits.I now find that the engines I fawned over as a kid are now rotting into the tundra in Greenland.what are the chances?

the welcome matt is pretty much pulled with the government of greenland because the mess of fuel drums, garbage, debri, & misc equipment was never cleaned up as promised. they are are tired of yankee yahoos, although we know their hearts are in the places. the logistics & the end result killed a noble effort. not enough trash bags to clean up that mess.
