Looking at the CWH website it shows the Lancaster flying to Ottawa on September 18.

Do you want to find locations of displayed, stored or active aircraft? Then start with the The Locator.
Do you want to find or contribute to the documented history of an aircraft? If so then start with the Airframes Database.

According to today's Ottawa Citizen, the flypast is supposed to be as follows:

Harvard
Lanc with Spitfire and Mustang in escort
Challenger
Aurora
4 f-18s in missing man
Spitfire to flypast, then land

Ceremony starts at 10, with the flypast at 11.

You know where I'm going to be Sunday!!! I'll probably stake out a spot near the west end of the parade square to have the best and hopefully most un-abstructed view.

Should be a great morning as long as the weather cooperates.

Charles

Ok, I should be there if the weather cooperates.

I'll stay on the flying club side, with the intention of whisking out as soon as it's done, unless some of you guys drop by on the other side!

I'm rounding up people in my neck of the woods, should have at least one Cessna 172 following me!

Was someone able to attend? Weather was too crappy for us In Montréal to drop by.

I gave a ride to a friend instead to go pick up his 140.

I was there. All went according to plan, apart from the fact that there were only two F-18s.

Attendance was excellent, and there was quite the ovation as the Lanc and her escorts passed by. There were lots of vets present, including quite a few in the parade. Sadly one collapsed around the time of the flypast. Hopefully he is okay ... I could not really see what was going on from where I was standing.

The museum took their P-40 out for a little fresh air ... on the corner of the parade square. It looked really good in the light of day.

Unfortunately, due to other commitments, I had to leave as soon as the flypast was over. Mike Potter did land the Spitfire and Harvard at the museum after the ceremony. Purely by chance, I got to see them take off later in the afternoon, when I was back in the neighbourhood passing by the museum. Gotta love luck like that.

I took a few pictures with the digital, but most on film. They are in for processing now. If they turn out I will scan some and post them.

All and all, it was a really good morning. Hats off to the organizers.

Charles

I had a similar situation back in May when I was in the UK for Duxford's VE Day show. On Saturday Duxford had a direct x-wind all day and while sunny for the most part, there were periodic hail storms! Needless to say a lot of aircraft didn't make it up that day. The most disappointing for me was the BBMF Lanc didn't make it up. Next day while walking around downtown Cambridge, my dad looked up and said "Look whose that?" I looked up and there was the BBMF Lanc w/ Spit and Hurri in formation, right overhead enroute to their display slot for Sunday's show. My trip was now complete, I got to see the Lanc after all!

Nice shots! Nice to see M. Potters Spit back in the air. Hopefully he'll (or the aircraft) make it back down to Geneseo some time.
