The Rose was scheduled to depart about 1730 Friday, 8 APR 11, for the show at Burnet, Texas. She should return to the Cobra Den later this afternoon. Next Saturday we'll be doing a fly-over with her at Wimberly, Texas (just a few miles from San Marcos). I hear there may be a WWII veteran riding with us. More on that after the day is done. I'll hop out of the Rose and into the U-11 for a fly-by at Camp Mabry in Austin at 1430. It's their Muster Days celebration with WWII battle gear on the ground.

That was a fantastic shot of the Rose at the Burnet Air Show. Thanks Ryan! We has a GREAT time. The folks at Burnet really bent over backwards to make sure everything went as smoothly as possible. They did a terrific job and we really want to thank everyone associated with the air show. We're already looking forward to going back next year!

of course of all days for my brother from S.A. to stop by your hangar.., would be TODAY.., and of course.. no one was there.

He did notice several small (he called them T-33-ish) aircraft around the field., are those Fouga's? He did not send me photos.., just tried to describe them over the phone.

He now knows to get by there MWF's.

Sorry we missed Chris. Sure hope he'll stop by again! We're open Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. I am often there on Tuesdays and Thursdays working on one plane or another, but today was for honeydo projects. Gotta keep the wife happy so she'll let me keep going out to the hangar to play.

The jets are T-33's. Rod Lewis' mechanic, JD, and Steve Hinton are in on them. Recently acquired from Canada, three will be put in flying condition with a fourth kept for parts. Looks like three are painted in light gray and one is dark gray. They've been swapping out engines lately and still need to put control surfaces on a couple of them.

We have one T-33 at the Cobra Den that runs great but has no insurance. It needs an annual and a buyer (yep, its for sale).

By The Way...

We are trying to figure out how we're going to pay for the new engine on the Yellow Rose and we have several fundraisers in progress or coming up. Couple of my comrades got in touch with artist extraordinaire, Django, and they worked out a t-shirt that we are selling to raise funds to help pay for the new engine.



This is the back of the shirt. There is nothing on the front and, right now, it only comes in this brown color, though other shirt colors are being discussed.

He also had a baby granddaughter born Tuesday of last week. Still, he promised to stay on top of the shirts... He should be in the Cobra Den today and I'll talk with him about it.

Misterg97, Jerry, has worked very hard on producing caps for the Yellow Rose which feature the nose art. A prototype is pictured above this post. The final version has a tan brim, low crown, wonderful material, and have added "B-25" to it now in the final version.

The Rose can really use all the help we can get right now. Even though she is about to return to the air again, there is a large pile of bills that needs to be paid. If you can, please purchase one (or more) of these beautiful caps. The profits are going directly to the Yellow Rose. Jerry will be posting details on how you can get one of these stunning caps on WIX in the very near future. He has offered to direct ship them to WIXers for us, which is another GREAT BIG help!
