Austin, any idea what the air show theme will be this year? Any aircraft booked for the show yet?
Thanks,

Hey Craig, thanks for asking! 8) We have a new site going up within the week that will have the aircraft listed. We're using a new online ticket system this year that is changing things up a little.

Sounds great Austin! I'll watch for the new site.

The M.A.R.C has put it back together and it's now a static display in our hangar. Plans are for them to finish a restoration to airworthy, no details on the timeline however...

Didn't see a mention of the B-23....didn't that move into your neck of the woods, or is that just my fuzzy memory?

Yeup! As airknocker posted, it's in the process of restoration. We have been busy doing the annual on the C-47 and C-45 this season, so we'll get to the B-23 next 8)

Thanks for the link! I'll be following the progress accordingly. One of my first warbird walk (or toddle) throughs was the CAF B-23 back in Waco in 198(mumble-mumble). I think I even bought a patch with a dragon on it which I have around somewhere...Anyhow, any mention of the B-23 tickles soft spots for me. Glad to see good things are happening with this one.

Happy to hear you are interested in our project! We should be getting it underway this summer when we're not away at shows 8)

Hey all, whew, what a day! Lots going on today at the museum, we kept busy from open to close 8-) We even have started to see more visitors trickle in with the recent arrival of spring-like weather. As if there wasn't enough work to be done, we also had to study today as it was C-47 Ground School!

Aircraft-

C-47- As I mentioned, we had ground school today for the "Skytrain." We talked about safety, aircraft systems, away airshows, faa regs, and everything in between. While we were busy studying up, Hugh F. made awesome progress on the canvas troop seat mounting rails! They are now complete and awaiting a coat of chromate 8-) After ground school was over, we towed the '47 out of the hangar for the 1st time this year and ran her up. She did beautifully...

B-17- Still away at it's first airshows of the season.

C-45- A few of us worked on "buttoning-up" the Beech today and were successful in doing so. The cowlings are now back on and she's just about ready to go.

MARC V-77 Reliant- The MARC's Stinson V-77 is now up on it's main gear! See the pics for a better idea, this is part of our hangar cleaning/organizing process.

UC-43 Staggerwing- John C. has quietly been making a lot of progress on our UC-43s wing. It is now ready to be re-covered! Only a matter of time before our slick "stagg" is in the air once again.

Buildings and Grounds-

T-Hangar- This has been the focus of our cleaning efforts lately. With the new "break room" almost complete, the hangar is well on it's way to being overhauled for future displays.

2011 Airshow- Stay tuned! A new site will be coming up live shortly...

'41 Fighter Fund- Latest total is $2,356! Way to go all, please keep spreading the word. I am planning some events for this summer to kick the fundraising up a notch.

Pictures- Here's what you missed today in Geneseo...
