I just love how Wixers have their finger on the pulse of what matters to Americans. Whereas every media outlet has got it all wrong ... so of course nobody will be watching TV today ...

I guess it's just a difference in societies. The Brits have just a bit more flare and panache for celebrating something like this...embracing the history and making it part of the present.

If we tried this in America, the 'opposing party' would launch a Congressional investigation, and half of the tax-payers in the country would be up in arms to impeach the President.

You're exactly right- everything's a "zero sum" game in American politics today. At least we can enjoy non-political "heritage flights" at airshows without too much looney-tune howling about such stuff.

In the meantime, back to appreciating the BBMF flypast, William's skills as a SAR pilot and his obviously excellent taste in women...

I would like to think Wixers would have their finger on the pulse of what matters to Wixers, and by the very definition of this website it would be the BBMF flyover and not the royal wedding, or what media outlets have what right or wrong or what other Americans think or don't think. WWI, I'm not that well educated in it, but from what I can remember the tide had turned by the time the USA began participating, helped in shortening the war yes, but the allies would have one eventually without the USA.
WWII, where were you during the Battle of Britain ? thats when the possibility of the UK speaking German ended.
