The good news is that MOTAT's (Auckland NZ) Sunderland will be in a hanger in about 3 months, after decades outside.

Thats good news Chris! Will the building be able to house any other planes in the collection?

Currently working with a company whose owner is a warbird nut. He is working on getting us the most bang for the buck when it comes to the size of the building. It may not be fancy. Basically a hangar built on to the existing museum. The aim is to get what they consider the heritage collection inside. These are the planes that started the museum. IT would house the B-17, B-47, C-47, B-58. Then some of the smaller ones where we can. This is the best case. Worst case is a building for just the B-17. I am hoping for the first.

Sounds great Chris. Anything that can be moved inside is a plus!

That would be quite something. It's great to hear about people taking an active interest in that museum and thinking about not only moving the aircraft indoors, but getting them repainted and refurbished. I would LOVE to see the B-47 and B-58 move inside with the B-17 if funding can be secured. Those two have been favorites of mine since my Dad first took me there as a six-year old.
