Part ID - Gyro

Hi guys & gals, this question was forwarded to me by a non WIX member with the hopes that we might be able to help.

Greeting from England.
I've been browsing the net looking for info on a unknown (To me anyway!) aircraft part that I purchased at a local sale.
It seems to be some kind of gyro control system, but what it's from , I've got no idea.
I'm hoping that someone among your members may have some clue as to it's origin.
Ok then, data as follows. Manufacturer no; 20418. Serial no; DT-239/ASQ-10. Part no; 52979.
Date; September 1970.
