As with most corporations at some point management will not want to spend so much money on the warbirds and hopefully someone else will buy it and put a historical paint scheme back on it.

Spookyboss

Remember that this P38 was painted all white for most of it's life so thee paint scheme is no less "accurate" than the one it is sporting

I understand, I can remember seeing it race at Reno. My thought is that it would be great to honor one of the many paint schemes the P-38 had in WWII Pacific or europe weather it was an Ace or not.

I agree with Spookyboss. I perfer to see warbirds (even though the white was nice) in acurate schemes. We have the two 38s (Porkey, GG) in OD, how about a silver or maybe a blue for something different. Just my thoughts.

Sorry to exhume this thread, but is there any chance to get the real plans of the P-38 Lightning somewhere? :?:

Plans for White Lightning or engineering blueprints?

Check with the USAF Museum or the NASM archives to see if they can provide copies of the drawings.

Otherwise, the Red Bull P-38 is alive and well with the Flying Bulls team in Europe as far as I know. It's about time for Red Bull to add another to the stable. How about a Red Bull B-17? pop1 Or Red Bull Me109? :supz:

Thanx for answering, I am searching the real plans for a P38-L, I will check there if I can get something there.

Beautifull photo indeed :supz:

for the flying bulls I vote for a Do 335, a Spitfire, a griffon, or a bearcat...
