Exactly. One of the hybrid rockets like they used on Spaceship One would work nicely. Isn't there already a replica being flown as a glider?

Yes, as answered on the previous page the Kurz Komet is now owned by EADS. A video from 2009 La Ferte-Alais airshow..music in an aircraft video...Argghh...no wait, it's a glider...nevermind..
