It was a pleasure to meet some WIXers for the first time over the weekend.

Great photos as usual August. Hope your business went well out on the left coast as well.

Ed Maloney is not a pilot, although he has plenty of back seat time in numerous aircraft.

Indeed. Any we satisfactory proved that the forum's JDK & bdk as well as being real, different people, were also not matter and anti-matter as the universe continued to exist after Friday's first meeting.

And to return the thread to topic, if you look really carefully, you can see the reflection of the tug in one of the funny silver things in the background of this picture.

It's a neat thing to see. One of two odd, bent, two-'prop' flying machines of the weekend.

As for reflections, this was one I took a few week's earlier on a 90th birthday party.

Ah, there you are James. Made it home safe and sound I trust.

Normally I am a loner at these events but it was fun sharing the evening with you guys. Even though, as the sun got low, I was asked for the first time ever to get my shadow out of someone's picture. The request came from a wixer so I let it pass. Had it come from a fencechecker or some other lowlife, he might have gotten a closer look at my shadow. :)

It's not hard, really. Although we are both witty, amusing fellows with remarkable good looks - sorry, remarkable looks, and we both own many rare books in a study that smells of rich leather, bdk is only correctly located in the form of lower case, while JDK is only available in upper case.

Yes, safely back. 13 hrs LAX to Auckland, then 4 hours to Melbourne. Not far, really.

Cheers!

Yeah. Thought about checking out the Mozzie at Ardmore, but reckoned they'd not welcome a visit at 6am.

James, is this a new scooter type rating since your post-purple heart "Rascal" runabout checkout at Oshkosh a few years ago?

BTW anyone meet my master goldsmith friend Jim of Pilot's Cross aviation jewelry? I think he had a booth set up selling his wares.

He was just getting cockpit familiarization training, not an actual flight. James did not contribute to the carbon footprint during his session (and my insurance ran out).

bdk (very sensibly) just took the toy away.
