Best video yet of the last flight of a C-133. Looks like they had some trouble at the end! :shock:

Very cool! Any idea what the issues was? The FE seemed really concerned about something, but I couldn't understand what he was saying.

He was saying they have a wing overheat light. I would assume that had something to do with a bleed air leak. Notice how the intercom appeared to not be working? The engineer did not even have a headset on during takeoff and the copilot had the inside ear phone pulled up and they kept yelling at each other.

Warning light was on the deice panel, so it had to be a wing overheat.

Did you not read what I wrote above his post? I told you it was a bleed air leak most likely. That gives air off the accessorie section of the engines for wing deice, prop deice (in this case) and a lot of other systems. It is a very serious problem potentially as it will burn holes in the metal, burn control cables in two and potentially cause the loss of a wing. So yes, if it really was a bleed air leak and not a bad indication then it could be very dangerous. One of my instructors told me that the two aircraft systems that were most likely to kill me were bleed air and fuel leaks.

The sound of those engines was what I remember most about seeing the C-133 fly over my house in Orlando on their way to the Cape delivering Atlas ICBMs for launch.

C 133 N199AB arrived at Travis this morning only about 25 minutes late from filed flight plan ETA. The planned flyover before landing did not take place due to a wing overheat warning that occurred just as it arrived. Some observers noted puffs of black smoke coming from number three engine as the plane appeared over the Travis area. As much as we C 133 fans were hoping for the magic sound and sight of a low level full power flyby, prudence dictated an immediate landing. The landing was perfect, the pilots greased it in. The plane taxied through a shower from the fire trucks, then parked and was turned wide open for visitors including the cockpit area.
