Wow...criticlpost has a news reel on a flight of Hawaii P-40's! Looks like I can start back up on "building every pearl harbor P-40 model" now that some more aircraft numbers are known!

YAAAHOOOOOO!!! 8)

http://www.criticalpast.com/video/65675 ... -formation

P.S. The B-17 is a B-17D model. The "D" model had cowl flaps. The "C" model didn't.

PSS. That was some snap roll in the 260 P-40! 8)

Looks like Jerry Yagen and Stephen Grey will need to lock the tailwheels down if they want to maintain historical authenticity! :D

That's awesome.

White spinners? I've never seen that before.

Are you saying the white spinners means they are unarmed?

Some of the Hawaii based P-40's had white spinners. Not all of them.

Agreed. There is very little know about the markings worn on Oahu based aircraft. I would suggest this reel is worth a lot to a PH historian like me. :D

I was once told most P-40's had the white spinner. But there were some without it too by Dec 7th. It makes studying and searching for how and why these markings were applied so much harder. :Hangman:

Nathan, there are several other videos as well showing some great Hawaii P-40 footage. I've seen some real cool stuff I didn't know existed. Pearl harbor attack footage as well. Takes some time though to find it .. :D

No. Look at the closest a/c when it's in a bank. No .30 cal. barrels protruding from the wings.
