Something a little different (SE5s) ...

Wed May 25, 2011 9:08 am

Summertime is "drawing season" for me, getting 4-5 projects to this stage of completion - ready to hit the ground running and commence the oil paintings in late August when the kids head back to school. This first drawing off the line is one I've been planning for a while. This is sort of a cosmopolitan composition in that the groundwork (except for the hangar, which I added using two-point perspective) is from a photo I took in Colorado, the cloudscape is from a picture I shot in England ... and the whole thing is supposed to represent a scene in France!

"Changes" to this composition will include the addition of a plane or two in or near the hangar, with men working around them. Also, I think I'll enlarge the main SE just a wee bit. The final painting will be 36" wide.
