Warbird Helicopters?

Here's some of the Olympic Flight Museums choppers. They put on some nice demos at the Olympia Airshow.

The Connecticut Air and Space Centers Sikorsky S-60 was built as a test bed for Mother Navy, so I would say she sort of qualifies.

In addition we have a Sikorsky H05S that has In country Korean War history.

The Hiller H-23 Night Raven has a military history as well

We also have a Sikorsky H-34 and H-19 that are in cold storage. From what I understand from the old guys at the shop these old choppers eat parts and had 1 hour up 4+ hours service history as well as needing items like blades etc that get really expensive to fix or remake. As with anything else if you have the money you can make anything fly LOL.

How about some Soviet stuff? Flying in Texas with the Cold War Air Museum.

There seems to be quite a few Huey's flying about on the circuit.

The Vietnam War Flight guys have a nice bird.

Of course there is the Collings Bird...

Back when I was flying N3628G (see avatar) I got it invited to the Andrews open House on the basis it was an ex-USA H-13E. A real warbird now in civilian markings and updated to Bell 47G (H-13G) specs. It was fun to fly it in and be treated like a (semi) big shot.

I'll try to get photos of the Huskie under rebuild for logging near here.

Love it at the Olympic Air Museum/Olympia Airport (Olympia, WA) airshow each summer when two Hueys fly, escorted by the "Voodo Venom" Cobra and a Loach (Hughes OH-6A) to midfield, where the Hueys land and offload real live Go-Go girls to the tune of "Flight of the Valkyries"...then everyone retires to the beer garden to have a few and dance with the girls and listen to the awesome retro band...I'm tellin' ya, it's pure heaven!!!

Yes, clearly!

Yup, about 1:15 through 1:30 in the clip you provided. Don Lykins either owned or bought that H-21 after filming (there may have been another one or two as well) and stored it at Chino for a few years until it finally went away. He also bought a bunch of those sand buggies and dirt bikes with all the fake armor on them.

I was lucky enough to attend a HMM-362 Vietnam Vetrans reunion a few years ago at Inola, OK. The YL-37 group had managed to get 3 UH-34D's in the air at one time, all painted up in full USMC Vietnam era colour schemes. YL-37 has indeed got Vietnam time on it, in fact when they were restoring it, they came across several old bullet heads that were underneath the fuel cells, been there since Vietnam.

Unfortunately I didn't keep the serial or N numbers, but this was one of several OH6's I got to fly in during my career as a Border Patrol Agent during the 90's. Several of them were Vietnam combat vets and had bullet hole patches in them. Even when we had newer MD-500E and MD-600N models, the pilots still preferred the old OH6's for the work we did with them. It was not unusual for the pilots to drag the skids through the brush when chasing people. And what a blast it was to be that low chasing people in a turbine powered helicopter! I think the OH6/500C,D,E series helicopters are some of the best sounding helicopters.
