Wow! I saw a FW.189, 200, Hs 129, He 111, Ju 88, maybe a dozen or more Me 109, FW 190s. Was there anything the Germans were flying operationally that the Russians did not have at this show? It strikes me the Russians had examples of far more than the British and US had in 1943.

Could it be that the Roooskies and Germans were head to head while the US and Brits were separated by water from the German's? Look at what we had of the Japanese.

Fascinating bit of film, thanks AJ! Clearly some of the aircraft have been repainted back into German colours (the incorrectly rotated swastika on one aircraft a usual giveaway) but others look original, and most in good nick - which is unusual in these cases.

Regarding the numbers and types, Pogmusic's right, but also in the usual case of hubris we tend to forget the European war was won and lost on the Eastern front, not the west, despite our best efforts. Specific to the type count, after D Day and in 1945-6, the other hand, the allies had a remarkable array of German kit for examination.
