The idea was meant to give us something positive to focus on instead of that.

I think if we think about what we say before we say it and treat each other a bit better then the positiveness will follow.
We don't need a contest for that
Jack who just put his flame suit back on

Mean while back at the ranch, 51fixer...Rich Palmer, hands down the best poster on the WIX board....

I expect more votes than I am getting. You guys are slipping up. I vote for Taigh.

My vote would go to either Taigh Ramey or Rich Palmer. I am biased of course by my maintenance background because there are several other posters who offer terrific threads and manage to stay out of the rock throwing business. I also like Jacks historical pics but yet several others post great pics from current airshows or museum crawls (Mike Henninger). Perhaps the moddies could come up with a ballot of potential winners and we could then cast a vote. Maybe we could have different winner categories such as best Maintenance post, best photo shoot, Best "scoop" story (Breaking news). Just my $.02

Franklyn - poster - that's a person, not a thread. Axle wrapping. Don't get wound around the axle. Have another go!

It's the poster who created the thread (Nathan) ... last I heard he wasn't a thread but a poster which is usually something you pin to your wall, but I get the point your trying to make  .. And it's Franklin with an "i" not a "y" :!: ... A "y" would get wound around an axle easier I would think ... lol ... how's that for another go? :D

Seriously? Nathan is a good dude and you have to admit that one particular thread he started sure has had some strong airplay here on WIX. Taigh Ramey would be a close second.

Oh, do you mean the, "What airplane did you see fly today" thread? I can't say I did anything special.

As they say in Philly- Vote Early and Vote Often.

Really, Guys. Taigh is great and saving the Lockheed is a spectacular endeavor and all, but it is a Bomber. :P
I look at this and see the "Tastes Great- Less Filling" commercial happening all over again.
Fighter vs Bomber!
Fighter = Cool. We're polished, painted and get the Pretty gals. We're the best, Just ask any Fighter Pilot around.
Besides, Taigh has it too easy. He doesn't have to work on or fly anything British. :union:

Seriously, Thanks for including what Jim and I do in your WIX viewing.
I'm honored just to be mentioned along with some of the great people around here.
Fighters Rule :spit2

While everyone on WIX contributes in one way or another there are several members that really stick out in my mind.

I agree with nominating Rich and Taigh. I really enjoy Rich's updates of all the maintenance involved in keeping a variety of warbirds flying.

I think Taigh's Harpoon rescue and his informed posts on all things turret related are great.

I'd also like to nominate Chris/Mustang Driver for all of his Warbird Rescue efforts and his work at Grissom.

Bomberflight has been doing a great job of covering warbird goings-on in England, and his Mary Alice thread is just fantastic.

I also enjoy Ryan Short's L-Bird related posts.

Thanks for sharing your adventures with us guys!

Here's a contest: Whoever can go a day without misunderstanding one of my posts and turning it into a flame war .... gets an all expenses paid trip to a warn, sunny beach resort  ... hint: If confused, PM's work nicely if sent nicely.

It's pretty sad when I'm in the running...
I'm with the guys on Taigh or Rich.
I also think Jack Cook has a pretty valid couple of points.

If Meier Motors keep collecting planes and Matthias Dorst keeps showing us them in detail in photo laden threads he is a good tip for the rookie award (and also best foreign)
