This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Sitting here at my home office desk, all of a sudden I heard the distant rumble of something old and powerful.
Then there she is ! the mighty Lanc from CWH came thundering over.
No doubt practicing for next weeks annual Hamilton Airshow hosted by Canadian Warplane Heritage.

This photo didn't turn out quite like I'd hoped, but almost has a painting feel to it.
Went to San Geronimo today with a student and saw a nice pair of Bird Dogs there for lunch.

It is Marine week here, in St. Louis.
This morning, I saw an AH-1W together with an UH-1N fly by my hotel, followed by an V-22 Osprey, and in the distance, by the Arch, I could see a CH-46. Not enough time to grab the camera, but plenty to enjoy the fly-by and to feel the rotor's vibration on the window panes.
Saludos,
Tulio

(Sunday) A Corsair went zipping by my house in the early afternoon hours, on a generally northwesterly course. If you draw a line on your DFW sectional between Addison and Denton, that's the course he was flying. He was a bit too far away for me to tell much about the airplane. It appeared to be overall dark sea blue and I didn't see any underwing stores or fuel tanks, and I couldn't see any big, bright markings from that distance.
Nothing like the sound of an R2800 to liven up your afternoon!

Spectacular picture, Ansel Adams has nothing on you!

I'm surprised they're cleared to fly in that kinda wind, though......
