Wow, I love the Lancaster and this would be my first opportunity to see one in person.

During the 2005 WWII weekend, on Saturday night, I walked by the RAF contingent. They were having what I would guess to be a formal dining in, outside, on a huge table set up for doing just that. The uniforms and visual impact of that were so ACCURATE and it was a microcosm of the whole event. I happened to be walking by when somebody said something very funny and the whole table of 18-20, in Mess Dress, were laughing and cheering. It was a very rare, accurate, and stunning moment to witness, and If you haven't ever been here, the show is full of moments like that and getting better and better every year. The WWII French village (covering nearly three acres, and where the Germans and Americans battle it out) is just incredible, and although it has to be moved, the people who built it are planning to make it larger and better than it was before. This event gives me the same feeling people used to describe in the Cole Palen days of Old Rhinebeck, and if you are into WWII, you won't be disappointed.

I am planning to bunk there this year, representing the 14th Liaison Squadron of the 9th Air Force with the L5. If you need bunk space and want to help out our new organization, get in touch with me and I'll let you know what we need to get ready for the event.

My prayers have been answered, the LANC at a US Airshow again up close and personal! Not to mention the BF109 and a Spit and Hurri! The only thing they need now is English Bitter on the hand pump and I won't have to go to the UK anymore.

Hmmmm I may need to find a hand pump but the bitter is easy.

There is a good brew pub on the way home (East) off Rt 222, Kutztown Tavern. Had some nice brews there, nice way to cap off a great day when I was at Reading last.

Wow I never knew that place was there. I may have to check it out next year.

I thought it would be fun to campout down in the area some year, but Someone keeps bring the rain . I was starting to think it was me but last year I went on Sunday and there was NO rain that day.
