watching the show "Ice Pilots" on Nat Geo channel. The episode I am watching now shows Buffalo airways selling two CL-215 waterbombers to Turkey. What is our problem in this darn country.let valuable assets go overseas while we burn.I guess we need more money to bomb brown people in Afganistan and Iraq. we need to re evaluate our priorities and stop playing the worlds cops.

Not only that, but you do realize that Buffalo is a PRIVATE COMPANY that doesn't have anything to do with what the US Feds or States do. BTW, I think we have plenty of fire assets available - there was a grass fire here in Texas today just south of Dallas and there were 5 tankers working a whopping 180 acre fire (but many structures were threatened because of the location and high winds).

I also note that the fires are burning in largely unpopulated areas. Have you ever considered that maybe it's a good thing to let the wilderness burn once in a while? California's finding out what not allowing the forest to clean itself of the deadfall does because it results in mudslides and bigger fires.

Big fire here in Nelson City yesterday, the first time I have ever seen air assets being used. Both rotary and fixed wing, some structures burned but no injuries. Hope all the tree huggers watched their precious cedar brush burn hopefully with the Golden Cheeked Warblers toasted to a golden brown. No rain since January and not much then.

Saw pictures...knew it was very close to you....glad y'all were spared!!! Bit too close for comfort. Hope there is relief down there soon....we're having rain/storms ("they" say) tomorrow and Wed and y'all should have em Wed and Thurs....but we'll see if the weather gods are really paying attention to the weather forecasters. Be thinking of y'all down there and all in West TX, NM and AZ.
