"Kiss Me Kate" was out at the last "Plane Crazy Saturday" held each month at Mohave Airport. Lots of folks had their photos taken with it, including a number of veterans. I didn't hear anyone talking about it's owner at all. It was low key and respectful of the plane and it's historical value.

Here in NZ the well known TV presenter/radio host Paul Holmes used to own a Stearman. Well known weatherman Jim Hickey has a share in or owns a Yak 52.

And though he's not complete owner, but current All Black captain Richie McCaw is part of the the team who keep the Southern DC-3 flyng, He is a rated Dakota pilot I believe and flies it often. Passengers often get to meet him onboard which must be a huge surprise and thrill as he's a big international sports superstar. [have you heard of rugby in the USA?]. A few weeks back due to the Chilean ash cloud when all the jet flights were cancelled in NZ this Dakota saved the day to transport the Canterbury rugby team from Christchurch up to Wellington for their game. Funnily enough though the team was onboard, Richie who is captain of the team, wasn't and went an alternate method.

Author Martin Cadin had a Spanish-built Ju-52.

Please correct me if I am mistaken, but I believe that Martin Caidin's Ju-52 was actually a German-built airplane. Although his book famously portrayed having found it in the jungle somewhere in South America, it had been derelict at the Guayaquil, Ecuador, airport. Am I mistaken with this information?

Indeed, Cadin's Ju 52/3m was a German-built - not Spanish or French - example. It was acquired from him and now flies, properly restored and certified to international airliner standards, painted as D-AQUI, its original German registration, but actually currently registered as D-CDLH for the Lufthansa Heritage Flight.

Peter Jackson has a collection of WWI aircraft. Not quite a Warbird but Cary Grant used to own a CV-240 that ended up with Challenge Publications then reportedly went to a museum. Jack Roush is a P-51 owner and pilot. Clay Lacy arguably a celebrity has owned a number of warbirds including a P-51, DC-2 and others.

Famous auto racer Johnny Rutherford owned and flew (depending on who you ask) two, three, or four P-51s at one point. When I met him and asked about it many years ago, he said he had two at that time. All were sold long ago.

In addition to owning a T-6, Aaron Tippin flies right seat in B-24A "Ol' 927".

aaron tippin the country star flies that b-24!? Never knew that! I know many older stars who have passed away were able to get aircraft or boats shortly after the war, but i was looking for a current list. I always wondered if current stars had a passion for warbirds right now. So far the list is amazing and growing so keep the it going!

Country Singer Roy Clark owned a Stearman at one time and Former New England patriot Russ Francis had a P-51. Cliff Robertson also owned a Tiger Moth.

Alain de Cadinet used to operate a Spitfire on behalf of its owner (who was also a well known individual) but it was sold a few years ago.

I don't mean to argue, but according to things I've read on the other forum, he did seem to own TE184, which he sold a couple of years back.
However, My 1996 Warbiirs directory said it was owned by Myrick avaition...prior to that it was owned by the late Nick Grace.
I've also read several things in car magazines that indicated he owned and not just operated it.
Did he fly it or leave that to others?

I stand corrected...but Cadin did "restore" his using a lot of American systems and Pratt & Whitneys.
Did Lufthansa revert back to the original engines or do anything to make it more stock?
