Picture the scene if you will .....

It's 09:57 as you drive into the visitor car park and there on the other side of the perimeter chain link fence are two Mustangs just waiting
to have their pictures taken !

It would be wrong to ignore a start to the day like that wouldn't it ?

Image

Image

Image

The next pic was taken with the "Polecam" with a cable remote release ~
without actually touching the aircraft in any way :D

Image

The view over the bonnet .....

Image

Image

Lets take a wander into The Fighter Collection Hangar and see how things are going with putting the P-40F together

Image

Did they work all thru the night ! This is just 24 hours after it arrived at DX !

Image

Image

Image

Image

The prop is ready and waiting to be fitted

Image

As so we arrive at lunch time ...... Who's that walking from the tower over to the flight line ? John Hinton.
And now thats Steve Hinton ( x2 ).
Merlins turn over together and all THREE P-51's on the line roar into life then taxi our way !

Image

The spin around and Alpha holding point and ...... uh oh ~ were going to get BLASTED by prop wash when
they run up the power for checks

They line up and go ~ along with the camera ship of a certain Mr. John Dibbs for a photo call

Image

All to soon ~ they're back and do a run and break for landing.

Image

Image

Miss Velma ~ flown by Steve Hinton

Image

February ~ flown by John Hinton

Image

Fragile But Agile ~ flown by Stevie Hinton ( Is it Stevie or Steve Jnr ? ~ I'd like to get it right for future posts )

Image

We suspect this is the first time we've had three P-51's in formation flown by three members of the Hinton family over the UK

Nick Grey [ Name edited to correct it ] took the Sea Fury up for a couple of fast paced practice displays

Image

And finally today ......

The Mustangs achieved their first "kill" of a ground target on today's mission

Image

I believe Stevo or Steven for the younger Hinton.
All those replicas look great over there.

Boy, Tamiya has really outdone themselves this time... that P-40F kit looks absolutely REAL!!!

Absolutely amazing and fantastic shots as usual Peter, shot with a real eye for detail... those of us with P-40Fs in the stash are immensely appreciative of your work here! :)

Not according to the WX forecasts for Sat. & Sun. We might get to see some sun one of the days. That said...from all appearances, the a/c line-up looks like it will be worth getting a bit damp for.

Mudge the :( :D :( :D :( :D (undecided)
