I was thinking it was pricey as well compared to the last two P-51's sold through Courtesy Aircraft. Are they pricing this higher because of the dual controls?

Before I'll pitch in, it's got to be one that's flyable NOW. At 70 years old, I don't have time to wait for a "project".

With the death of Roy Shoffner, I wonder if Glacier Girl will be up for sale anytime soon. Now THAT'S something I'd REALLY invest $$$ in.

Just my luck though, someone else would get to crash it before I could... :?

Maybe I could print up some stock to sell on eBay... Thinking (picture smoke out the ears)... Anyone with 100 or more shares could fly it, anyone with more than 10 shares could fly in it! The rest just get the stock certificate to hang on the wall. Of course I'd get to fly it for my efforts in putting it all together. 8)

The question is...who would insure such a scheme?

Insurance

Why would insurance be a major hurdle, outside of paying the premiums?
As long as the Pilot(s)-in-command are qualified on the TF-51, why would
the insurance company care? The WIX TF-51 Museum would just be
a corporation or consortium of people who pooled their funds to start
a museum. Some of the members are qualified to maintain the aircraft.
I would be satisfied with taking my dividends in the form of rides.

As for the nuns: I always thought the facial hair was just the Monty Python bunch being funny! Are real nuns really hairy? Fascinating!

Hmmm.... Pope prefers the 190A over the 190D then, and how does Tulio know so much about hairy nuns? :shock:

When you compare the $1.2M for this project with the $1.9M for the ex Doug Arnold TF51 which Sherman are selling the price looks OK, that said both have been for sale for a while now.
But what of the history of this project, surely questionable seeing as it crashed and killed the pilot.
