Hi everyone its not mine or I would give it to you all....A breakfast buddy (Im a ol guy, ol guys have breakfast buddies) bought it at a auction, I believe he will be putting it on Ebay, thats how he makes a living. He was curious what it was from, so I told him I know guys that know everything about aircraft, you guys... i'll ask if he will sell it on here to someone...

Since you all said Wildcat I looked over at those pics the ol guy posted on Grumman, this looks very close to it...

Well that is a very nice pic of the wildcat but I am pretty sure that bendix made more than one type of seat. If you look at the upper seat rail attach points, they are a bit different. Btw not everyone said wildcat :)

Like a lot of GFE, there were probably multiple applications for that seat, but I've seen
roundback seats in an F4U Corsair and a P-38.

Not a wldcat seat or frame. The seat is round backed at the top but not at the bottom and the frame is squared off at the top not round like the pic of the wildcat.Could of come out of a P-40 N model because of the upper mounts. The lower mounting bosses would go with the casting mounts on kittyhawk wings. The seat is also missing the angled filler panel at the bottom(You can see where the spot welds were chiseled.)
