If it's good cgi, you'll never know it. I doubt that there has been a major film released in the last ten years that didn't have some cgi in it, even if it was only to change the labels on product-placement soda cans.

Take a look at this Battle of Britain video produced using the latest simulator in the IL2 range named Cliffs of Dover. When it comes to recreating historical battles, the sky will be the limit in the not too distant future.
