Fantastic pics as always.

One question (or maybe three on a theme): Why the glossy Olive Drab anti-glare panel? Wouldn't it have been drab? I mean, gloss kind of defeats the purpose of anti-glare, correct?

And since it's such a small bit of paint, doesn't seem like cleaning would be an issue...especially if you're going to polish all that beautiful natural metal.

I suspect they're all still in a bit of shock. :(

Looking forward to Matthias' posts, and perhaps some reflections from Meier Motors.

Time for some updates .... there was a lot of work to do the last weeks. Main attraction lies on the P-51 TF-project of the Schuelke-family, well known as Air Fighter Academy GmbH based on the island Usedom, North-East Germany .... what abeautiful place to live, I tell you ...

Okay here we are, here we go

As you know, lots of parts are missing, so the bodywork team had to built up a complete new doghouse from scratch. Those guys are really artists !

small update to the Spitfire doubleseater project MJ772 belonging to the airfighter academy Usedom

Image

Teammember Julian is working on the electrics

Image

preparing for maingear-tests

Image

a piece of art !

Image

Image

Jochen and Felix (sitting) perparing the fighter for maingear-tests

Image

everything works as it should do

Image

Image

I think yo will as yourselves, where is that engine ... not so easy to reply. The revised engine is in the shop, but you cant mount it without installing the front tank first. There was missing the fuel pump ..... now the parts are there and soon the magnificant fighter will get his heart !

Thats the place the tank will take place

Image

the fuselage tank

Image

and the brandnew original fuelpump

Image

Jochen seems to be happy and soon he will sit in the backseater-cockpit and will have a lot of fun !

Image

.... but at first Jochen has some work at the wheels

Olek Rocks! You can never have too many fabrication pictures, Mattias.

Here the pictures took by Werner Hovrath, engineer of Dieter Thoms Flighttest (they make all the paperwork for MeierMotors). Werner gave MeierMotors those photos, copyright by Werner Hovrath.

Btw. in the second of the maidenflight I laid on the beach at Bibione (Italy) and took a drink .... I hate holidays when there is a maiden in Bremgarten. But Achim sent me a SMS so I had the chance to party some 750km away ...

Today I talked with the team and Marc "Leon" Mathis. They seemed to be happy :)

checkruns before maiden

Image

Image

Hope that I will get a video form Werner soon ....
