Need a little help for a friend

My friend's dad who sadly does not have very long left is looking for information on his own dad.

Name: Ralph Billings, flew Hudson's with the RCAF as a tail gunner.
Killed in action in WW2 in the Mediterranean with sq608 at the age of 19.

They are looking for websites with info on the following:
- Sq. information
- AC Type information
- Theater info.

Or anything of interest.

Tks in advance for any links.

There are many on the FP Forum who know where to look and have suitable books with regard to casualties.

I've never tried before but a quick Google (on google.co.uk as opposed to .com) using "608 squadron" with the quotes brought up a few suitable sites including http://www.hudsonbomber.com/statistics/Index.htm

From that I found the following:
June 4, 1943 - FK 679 - F/Sgt. H. Weir RNZAF, F/Sgt. J. Gordon RAF, F/Sgt. R.J. Jameson RAF, F/Sgt R.W. Billing RCAF.
Hudson crashed on take-off from Bone. All of the crew were killed. Billing’s body was never found.

Good luck with your search.

Thank you dhfan
