Pic 17 - Again...hard to tell the size. Kinda looks like scraper or flat file with the wood handle rotted off.

Pic 30 - The two little round items on the left side that have the red and blue(?) bands look like some type of electronic/electrical part...maybe a resister?

Thanks. Do you have photos of these parts you think? Pic 4 have a diameter of about 10 centimeter. I think is a part of a wheel.

Pic 17 I also belive is a scraper used from people that cut aircraft and take it away to sell alluminium....

No I don't have any pics. If you say Pic 4 is approx 10 cm and possibly part of a wheel....could it be a wheel bearing cap? Anyone????

All the best,

Photo 3 shows a spoon; the business end of a hair clipper; and a parachute snap hook.

Edit: I have withdrawn my comment about the snap hook NOT being from parachute gear. Does in fact match parts on QAC and seat pack rigs.

Reference photo for the data plate BC-456B (upper left unit in photo) part of SCR-274N.

The SCR-274N is multichannel HF aircraft radio receiving and transmitting equipment.

Also notice several sliding "clip attachments" as appear in your photos.

(The unit shown is actually a -E, but essentially the same as a -B)

Black fibers in #4 appear to be from a molded rubber product, either tires or rubber fuel/oil cells.

Very sobering reminders of the human costs of war.

Here is some information that a friend of mine was able to pull from IRIS (electronic database for the Historical Research Center) regarding the unit. I am posting it in raw forms as I am not familiar with the information and I hope it can be of use.

This is a search for the 904th Air Base Sec. Bn.

I can only hope that this give more information to the historical gurus to better enable their search.

Unfortunately the IRIS citation above does not have any reference to the 904th Air Base Security Bn. As with most unbracketed searches it has the numbers 9,0 and 4 and the words Air and Base and Sec and Bn which likely led to this page.

I did a search in the USAF Historical Branch Index and found reference to the 904th for the war years (the above is 1948), but the date specific for the loss of the subject aircraft is NOT in the indexed files.
