Has anyone heard about this site and these new build Bf-109's before?

http://www.leichtbau-gmbh.de/index.htm

I need to polish up on my German, or I can just use yahoo babblefish to translate it for me. Either way it's exciting to see and read this.

Hartmair lightweight construction - precision in metal

From the metal component up to the highly reimbursed steel fitting - we look after all necessary steps.
As a manufacturing partner for demanding components we get on also as an adviser if it is a matter of choosing the right process.

Our achievement spectrum encloses the construction of components, the production of records for individual parts or whole assemblies, type search, form construction for metal distortion and foundry models, device construction for assembly and repair, the manufacturing of unique pieces or small series, the assembly to whole assemblies, spare part manufacturing (saves parts) for old-timer after genuine part or drawing as well as problem solutions under economic aspects.

In addition, we organize for you:

- Downpour parts from steel, magnesium and aluminum
- Warm treatment of aviation materials
- Laser cuttings, Laser-inside, Stereolitographie
- 3d-mill from Urmodellen of plastic

This is not a new project, but repairing the HA-1-M 1112 L, D-FWME. It is now owned by EADS.

... and the landing gear pivot casting, probably the most complex single piece on a 109...

@Fred41: Not quite correct. If you click "Vorrichtungsbau" you will see the blue steel structure to which the fuselage is fitted. They state, that they lent this item to MAC (former owners of "Red 7", D-FWME) for repairs MAC did on their own.

AFAIK Hartmair Leichtbau does n o t plan to sell complete new Bf 109 airframes (including engines, the most important and relatively rare part). What they do is provide parts and assistance for owners of planes (and projects) who have at least a powerplant and a dataplate  . (It is rumoured that they do build 1 or 2 completely new built ones for themselves, but that is just rumours.)

I have a feeling that when this economy turns around we will see new builds.
