Despair is in check Ray, but I ain't getting any younger. The P-39 and P-63 news are thread favorites, looking forward to the future for more Bell's in the air!

Echo that.

The P-63 getting air is an any-minute-now thing, and there has been mention of peeling off another thread to cover it, and I'm getting nervous. I hope there isn't any news I'm missing..................?

I'm not sure if the planes will be in the air by the 3rd of September, or if they are, if they will be ready to go that distance from home base. Generally, after major maintenance like the P-63 got...including the motor work...you want to put several hours on it in the local area before going cross country.

Rest assured that when these planes fly, they will be 115% ready for the air. The Cobra Den team has been taking their time to make sure the work is top-notch! With rare birds like these, you don't want to rush things, and they haven't.

what is the latest outlook on the 63 or 39 getting airborne again? I leave TX in about 3 weeks "for good" and I want to see them in the air before I leave! Obviously, taking more time to get things done in a timely manner is more important, I was just sayin lol

I'm sure Mike is busy putting fires out (literally) at home, but will report when it rains. So look forward to a Christmas report.

Just a quick blurb, Cuz is right, I've been a little busy this week trying to keep the home fires FROM burning! While the Bastrop County fires spared my house (I was in the path of one, but they got it out way before it got to me), I have had family and friends lose houses, cars, pets...and I am doing what I can to help them.

Work is continuing on the P-39, the leading edge skin is being riveted on, but as Ray mentioned earlier in the thread, it's slow-going because of the small spaces that hands have to get into so they can hold the bucking bar. The work which has been completed on the leading edge looks to be better than original factory quality!

The P-63 is getting closer by the day to flight. I understand it's getting down to the "punch-list" now, which is very short!

Once again, I apologize! We've been working on the IFR instruments on the Yellow Rose to get her qualified to sell rides again. We need the money BAD. The 310 Kate torpedo bomber went down in AZ a few weeks ago and just arrived home by truck Wednesday. The P-63 is waiting for new fuel quantity sending units that should have shipped (FINALLY) on the 20th. Once I get them in my hands, we'll get her flying ASAP. The P-39 repairs are over 50% complete now. Could make a huge leap forward in a few days as we have the parts, people, and tools all in the same place now.

Thanks for your patience!

hey Ray, can you do me a favor? I am going through my pics from when I went by there a few months ago. I cant seem to make out the tail # on the CJ-6 that is in the hanger there. Could you help me out with it? Thanks!

Also, is N2BW the tail # for the Blue Canoe? i cant seem to find N2BW or 58310 under any registration (civil or military). Im a little confused. thanks for any help

last time I was there, there were the 2 T-33s of the new jet team over near the normal terminal, one flying condition, one without a tail. any clue what the tail # of the tail-less T-33 is?

Lastly, the red and yellow SNJ with "24" on the nose...what is it's tail # as well? thanks
