Warbird Information Exchange

Day off today, so I hit the road again.

Visited Zionsville, where at an antique shop I bought a Sperry K-13 gunsight for my collection.

Also obtained a rare trading card showing a Brazilian airplane (the Muniz M-7) and almost bought a B-26 and an A-20 made out of wood, but for whatever reason, I thought they were fake.

There were several "recognition" ships, also made out of wood and painted dark gray.

Then went to the Indianapolis-Terry airport (on Hwy. 32) and saw a CAF's PT-26 but could not photograph it.

There was also an Antonov An-2, registration unknown due to viewing angle.

There is an airshow / gathering of some sort Oct. 09 at the Carmel airport.

There is a Fly-In at Freeman Field (Seymour,Indiana) tomorrow-8 October. Freeman was a WW2 training field that also had Axix planes and rockets that were used for evaluation. Lots of these were buried on site after the war and some have been dug up. They have a museum, too.

Sadly (for me at least) I must work, so attending the show is not possible.

I have visited Seymour, and I know one of the guys (in MN) who has participated in the digging at Seymour.

Are you going to Seymour? Last time I was there, several Convair twins (Rhodes) were present.

Yes, Tulio, I am going to Seymour. I will try to get some pictures and post them. Rhodes Aviation had several Convairs and a Super Gooney at Columbus, Indiana (Bakalar) a couple of weeks ago. I believe that is their home base.
