The CAF 109, did they decide to permanently ground that airplane? I have never seen "The Green Dragon" in person. How nice of a B-25 is it? The T-6/P-64 thing, wasn't that for sale a few months back?
And all I can say about that corrosion is, holy crap!

I'm not sure if the HA-112 is permenantly grounded or not, but it obviously has not flown in some time. That is the only warbird I could do without seeing in the air. They are just too darn sketchy. I wish someone would replicate the prototype 109 that had the inward hinging landing gear. It would be historically correct, and with the gear up would look just like a regular 109 in the air. The safety record would improve greatly as well. I do wish I had the chance to see Red 7 in person before it was destroyed though. The B-25 is a very nice bird for sure! The only one I have ever seen in person that I might say was any nicer is Cavanaugh Flight Museum's B-25. The T-6 / P-64 is just plain cool. I was amazed at how fast it apeared to be. Guess that's what happens when you put a T-28 motor and prop in a T-6.

Those 109's can ground loop easy, and you can run it off the runway if you are not paying enough attention. It's also not too hard to clip a wingtip. I know David Price's old ME-109, now owned by Ed Russel, has run off the runway a few times by Bruce Lockwood. I think it happened at Mojave Airport.
When you say red 7, do you mean the HA-112 with the DB 605 engine, reg #D-FWME c/n 139? This is the one that recently ground looped.

Yeah that's the one, but wasn't Red 7 a true ME-109, where as the CAF bird is the Merlin powered Hispano HA-112?

Red 7 was a Hispano built HA-112-M1L Buchon. It was modified as a Bf-109G-4 with the correct cowlings, spinner, DB 605, etc. It took seven years to restore and modify the airplane.

Interesting. Thanks for the info ! Has anyone heard anything on the chance it might be rebuilt, or if there is enough left to be rebuilt?

Aircraft is already being rebuilt, less damage to the engine than first thought.

Does anyone know what is going on with the Frederick MD, stars & stripes wing? I know they started work on a TBM, are they still workiing on it, is the wing still around?
I must say I miss their airshow, only made one, but it was well worth the trip down there. Looks like it was getting much better year by year also.

Any public word on the fate of the P-82? (not to start any fires but the last pictures posted it was in pieces)
