If you want to know about a F2G formation flight, I have already suggested it to someone from the Race 57 camp who would have to be involved to make it happen. Here is his quote. "We will have to wait and see what the politics are." This person is a close friend. While he would not delve into specifics, it may be regarding who will be doing the photographing, whether it is a major magazine or a private photographer. Thats just my guess. As for now, they know about the historic possibilities but lets take a wait and see approach.

Oh, trust me...if you had seen him in both his Thursday and Friday heat races, you would have had no doubt he was there to 'race'. More power than Bob ever carried while running #57.

That's awesome... and I'm really glad to see they got her back up and in the sky so quickly after she starting eating bits a couple months ago. That thing is SUCH a gorgeous aircraft!

Well, Bob was racing in the Silver bracket, while Jimmy was in the Gold.

I want to say that on Thursday he started back in about 6th and had moved his way up to 3rd (behind Sawbones and Miss America), and I believe on Friday had finished 2nd to Miss America. Seemed pretty obvious to me that the track was to win Saturday's Silver and bump up to Sunday's Championship race.

Watching him pick off planes one by one in Thursday's heat was just a thing of beauty and was the moment that erased any doubt that Bob was there to race, not just fly.

But my favorite quote of the week came on Tuesday during Qualifying. An English gent came running up to the Press Barge out at the end of the T-hangars and set all of his camera equipment down. He was relating to those of us around him that he had just driven in at warp speed from Sacramento (which is I guess where he had flown into), just gotten his credentials, and ran out so he could catch the Unlimited Qualifying session.

A few minutes later, Matt Jackson in Furias taxiied by us, and in quite literally one of the best accent's I've ever heard he said,

Ah, now there's a right proper aeroplane from the old country.....

Just the way he said it, and considering the irony that Furias has not much 'British' left on it, was hilarious, and cracked all of us up out there.
