What airplane did you see flying today?(airplane spotting)

Finally got moved to Fort Campbell, KY a few days ago and so far I have seen MANY regular airliner aircraft flying over at high altitude (which we didnt have where I was at in TX), O/AH-6s, MH-60s, and MH-47s almost daily of the 160th SOAR, very few normal army aircraft, but some, a G-V still with Gulfstream registration took off from the near airport and banked to come right over my house (nice treat), the local medevac chopper which is a Vanderbilt Mediflight BK-117, as well as a C-5, C-17, and a pair of C-130s coming into or out of Campbell Army Airfield. In addition, a NASA T-38 came into the field a few times the other day. Of course, my camera decided to go out on me during our drive, so i havent had a camera available. Hopefully will have one soon.

We landed the CF Huey on a spot sans grass at Georgetown, Saturday. The doors were open, BAD move ! We made sure to close the doors on takeoff !

B-25 ... northwest of Dayton ... have no idea as to who ... perhaps the one belonging to the Champaign Museum in Urbana ... sure looked great .... can't wait till next year's reunion.

This Navaho got a little closer to me that I would have liked, but I was not surprised... Our speed difference (I was flying a Cub) meant that he overtook us quite rapidly on a go-around.

yeah, it was too short. missing it already. but TN is VERY nice. at least this area is. just nowhere near as concentrated with aircraft as TX is.

A group of police gathered at Bristol Motor Speedway today (Oct. 14, 2011) for training and shortly thereafter, this Tennessee state owned Bell UH-1H Huey made a fly-over of the Speedway. Must have been taking part in the training.

I was at the Liberty University football game yesterday and saw some sort of ag sprayer pulling a banner over the stadium. The plane was painted in the blue and yellow colors of a basic trainer type plane from WWII. No idea whether it was a local plane or what, but am going out to a couple of the local airports today to see if I can by chance find it and get pix. If any of ya'll Virginia boys already have pix of it, I would love to see them, especially if my hunt today comes up empty handed.

I was at WOH with LSFM yesterday but had to leave early for personal reasons. This afternoon, while sitting on the patio about 2:30 CDT, I heard a round engine comin'! A gray/yellow AT6/SNJ cruised over low and slow heading generally NW from Brenham. I frequently see warbirds flying home from WOH overhead on Sundays and Mondays. I've heard that some of them gas up here at 11R heading home.
Wings was a good a/c experience for me. I saw FiFi fly for the first time, how cool is that. It was also my first look at a Tigercat and the brown A6M was motoring around. The four shop formation of L-39s with the MiG, all painted black, dark blue and white put on a good show. I don't know if that's an authentic paint scheme, but I like it.

The black, white and gray camo was taken from the Alaskan winter camo F-16 picture that was circulating for a while. I've tried to explain to Jared that the paint store has other colors, but, unfortunately, he doesn't believe me !

At my kid's baseball game this afternoon just west of David Wayne Hooks airport near Tomball, TX. Beautiful day, not a cloud in the sky. Lots of Cessna, Lancair, Pipers and other GA traffic coming and going. Bottom of the third, two outs and I hear a multiple radial engine aircraft approaching on downwind leg. Look up to see Texas Raiders low and slow with gear down. Guessing she was returning from Wings Over Houston airshow. Wish I had my camera but the neatest thing was the ball game stopped cold. Umpire called time and everybody and I do mean everybody (players, coaches, umpires, parents, kids, etc.) turned and just watched in awe as she flew over. Highlight of the afternoon plus we managed to win the game!
