Art was a regular attendee and supporter to many of our shows here in Northern Ca, along with his son Dan who usually flies the family's P-51. My condolenses to the family and their many friends.

I recieved this e-mail today and wanted to pass it on:

Hello Unlimited Members & Other Friends,

First let me thank all of you on behalf of the Vance family for your many
kind words, thoughts, prayers, offers of assistance, etc. What an
outpouring of love and support. Truly a tribute to a wonderful man!

Contributions

The family has requested that any contributions be made in Art's name
directly to Cure Autism Now. Art's grandson, Winland, lives with autism.
Art would have been pleased to know that "his life" helped to further the
research of and find a cure for autism. The best way to contribute is to
mail a check directly to:

Cure Autism Now
5455 Wilshire Blvd., Suite 2250
Los Angeles, CA 90036

For record keeping purposes, be certain to write Art Vance on the memo line
of your check. Should you prefer to make a credit card donation, please
call Ben Engel at (888) 828-8476 ext. 723. To learn more about Cure Autism
Now please visit their website at:

Should you have any questions or need further assistance, please feel free to contact me directly. Thank you again for your care and concern during this difficult time. We hope to see you in Santa Rosa on Saturday. God bless you all.

I would like to thank Chuck Gardner and Scott Rose for the help that they provided on saturday evening and sunday to make sure nothing was posted until the family was contacted. Alot of work has been done the last 4 days, and are now complete at the site. We may never know what really was the cause. Our Prayers are with the Family, and the Work that Art did for us to help make the Fighter Tour a success was greatly appreciated. Michelle and I will greatly miss Art, I had just talked with him before he launched to go to Little Rock AFB.

Just found out about this while over on FP after about a week away. As I said on there, my heart goes out to the Vance family and Mr Vance's circle of friends. I never met Mr Vance but certainly knew the name, having read it many times in a Warbird context. The Hellcat, which I was pleased to see at Willow Run a couple years back, is a sad loss and will be missed too in a different sense, but pales utterly in comparison...
