There's a section on the 109 (a re-engined Buchon) on the Meier Motors thread

In addition to the Buchon conversion, Yagen also as an 109E model under restoration. I'm not sure what sub-type of E it is or where it's under rebuild. The Buchon conversion is from the airframe that used to be at NMUSAF. Yagen also has several original Fw190's as well:

Fw190A-3 WerkNr 5467 'Yellow 9'
Fw190A-8 WerkNr 350177 'Blue 1'
Fw190A-8 WerkNr 732183 'Blue 4'
Fw190D-9 WerkNr 211028 'Black 8'

I believe he also has the FlugWerk 190D that was being built with an upside-down Allison as the powerplant.

MAM is going to be THE museum to see Luftwaffe aircraft sometime in the near future... if it isn't already. I have got to get down there.

The 109E has been under rebuild in Moscow for some years. All the other 190s are ex Norway and Texas Air Museum.

Sorry you missed it... I missed the beginning of the trip. I was at a traffic light and heard it take off as it left Paine Field in Everett.

They had posted their flight status via Flight Aware on the Legend Flyers Facebook page.

I was hoping they would have another arrival partying like they did with Chuckie. Would not have mattered to me it was Suffolk rather than Pungo.

Flightaware has it landing at the Fighter Factory in Suffolk around 4:30 pm Friday afternoon. And as far as i know it does not seem to be heading to the museum yet. I would think that they are waiting to get the German Cottbus hanger finished first so that they would have a place next to the maintenance hanger to store it. :D

Has the WW2 Luftwaffe hangar been reconstructed there in Virginia yet?

As of last week when i was down for the car show the concrete footer and the heated floor had been poured and the metal framework was setting in piles of sections partially assembled to be put onto the footer. But the walls hadn't gone up yet.

This is Awesome i was wondering when this was going to show up in VA. Have they figured out if it will stay in Suffolk or at the Beach. One of the last visits I had made to the beach, a docent told me it was supposed to show up but he wasn't sure if it was going to make its home at the Beach or at the Suffolk Location. Awesome to see that Jerry is assembling such and amazing collection and I do love his museum.

My understanding is that it is not upside down but the mounts were created to let it sit lower to fit "correctly" to the aircraft. That was the airframe that was in Florida right? If so I have a few shots of it before it was sold.

The ALLISON was equipped with 'Funny Car' style 'Zoomies' to lower the exit ends of the stacks. I can't imagine all the technical issues and costs that would be involved in trying to make one run inverted, oiling, cooling-
