Those are great! In that last photo, it looks like a lot of oil venting overboard from the crankcase vent, they must have been spankin that baby pretty hard.

Chris, one of my favorite aircraft and movies! What a find! It just goes to show you that there are treasures still to be found, from pics to planes. Thanks so much for sharing....Tailwinds, Steve.

From my login name you might detect a degree of bias here but they're great pictures.
OT but the car in front of the second pic is the original Ford Capri. They're worth fairly serious loot now, if you can find one, but I always thought they were crying out for a 302 V8.

Yes, I recognized the little Capri - sort of a baby 1960 Ford Starliner. A handful were imported here, and I've only seen one. Also note the Capri and the Nord 1002 below the wing of RS712. Now, can anyone identify the plane parked behind the Mosquito in the hangar?
BTW, TA719 has been restored to the livery it's wearing in these pictures - nice job!

From half a wing and half a tail?! Not me.
In the UK, the Capri came with 1340cc or 1500cc. No idea what that is in cu inches but not much.

Educated guess - 70-odd?

Oh, ye of faint heart.
It's an Anson.

Great stuff. Would love to see a book on the making of this movie, along the lines of Robert Rudhall's Battle of Britain books.
Would depend a lot on the interest in the movie, of course!

dhfan,
1000cc = 61 cubic inches.
1340cc = 81.7 cubic inches
1500cc = 91.5 cubic inches.
Small engines indeed.

While I was grocery shopping with my wife last week and while waiting in the checkout line I noticed "633 Squadron" and "Battle of Britain" in the movie CD rack and bought them both for $9.99 ea.....Tom
