Tucumcari, and the other one whose name I do not remember [But, not the one mentioned above], I recall from a short magazine article on them, either Popular Mechanics or LIFE magazine, back in the 1960s.
I do remember that they were described at the time as the "newest, but still experimental" navy craft / boat / vessel / etc.
From that time onwards, I knew what an hydrofoil was.
