FAA ADMINISTRATOR ARRESTED FOR DUI

Randy Babbitt, administrator of the FAA, was taken into custody Saturday by Fairfax County police and charged with driving while intoxicated, local news has reported. At about 10:30 p.m. Babbitt was seen driving on the wrong side of the road and was pulled over. He was alone in the car at the time and no accident related to the incident has been reported. After being taken to a local jail, he was released on a personal recognizance bond. Babbitt flew 25 years for Eastern Airlines and was sworn in to lead the FAA on June 1, 2009.

The way he dumped on the Air Traffic Controllers this year does not allow him to be human and make a mistake.

Does he leave with a huge severance and free health insurance for the rest of his life just like they all do?

In the 21st century drinking and then driving cannot be seen as a 'mistake' but just d@mn stupid. Especially when associated with an industry where operating machinery while impaired is a widespread 'not acceptable'.

Well, he WAS a modern day oxymoron, a Government Employee so I'm sure he got some lovely parting gifts, just not a home copy of the game. He'll land somewhere as a junior partner in some law office.

Especially since he'd be first in line (to show his bosses how tough he was) to take a pilot's license if the same thing happend to an airman.

I agree that it is very stupid, I was in no way condoning it. I hope no one took it that way. There was a report that if he resigned then he left with pension and health benefits, but if he had to be fired he would receive nothing.
