I first read "P-40 shoots up runway in Ohio - No injuries". Then I read the title more carefully.

My grandfather used to use the term "crack-up."

Are there any photos or description of the damage since they picked-up the aircraft?

prop looks a tad sad., and boy you can see the smoke baked onto the nose from this shot as well.

Fantasic job bringing both pilot and airframe back in one piece.

When the "Liberty Belle" landed in the farmer's field while on fire, everyone was really quick to 'correct' the term 'crash' that was being thrown around. Impressions are everything in todays rapid news cycle, and there are a lot of terms that reflect more favorably on the controlled non-powered landing than "crash."

when I hit some black ice last week I went through a fence the police report said I had lost control and "crashed" through a fence, looks like he "crashed" to me

I know it's purely semantics but, IMHO, it was a "controlled non-powered landing" only up to the point that it left the runway, went through fence, and ended up in the street with a collaped landing gear and bent up wing tip and prop.

Accident or Incident? Not a crash. In fact you could argue it was already on the ground, landed, and only rolling out when a "mechanical" happened. I think the runway there is like 3750' X 70'.
