Stupid question: I see the jack stands under the leading edges of the wings... With the engines on and the horizontals and rudder off, are they afraid she`ll be too nose heavy and tip?

Probably not, they are being very cautious and are going to put the tail assembly on shortly

There are more projects going on at the same time as the 'Belle. They are restoring another B-17. :drink3:

She is being restored as close to a flying aircraft as possible. Some items like the fuel lines and such are being left as is because they are the original WWII items. In order to be a flyer these would need replaced along with electrical systems and such. Better to keep the original gear. They are working on other stuff as well. The Helldiver, Skyraider, and Swoose were all getting attention.

I am sure those others are fine restorations as well.., but obvious this one is getting the most attention.
