I think going forward we in the US are going to have to see a lot more cooperation between the government and corporate sponsors if we want to save our national patrimony. There's just too much to save and not enough money to save it. That's always true, but especially true in these times. The question then becomes, who gets to tell the story of the relic, those who pay to save it, or those who may be able to put it into its' most objective historical context.

I wonder how countries across Europe do it, with all the castles, Roman and pre-Roman works, etc., etc.

But this hangar is a good place to test the theory (though I've seen it in other places here and there as well).
