Most people are aware of the world famous HARS aviation museum in Australia near Sydney, with its large and popular fleet of flying and static warbirds. To some enthusiasts, this part of the museums collection is what brings in the crowds to many events.
Others may not be aware that HARS also also operate a growing fleet of civil aircraft such as Constellation, C-310 and soon a C-131. A new addition in a few years is hopefully to be a replicated Fokker Southern Cross with has 3 engines. The real aircraft was flown by Kingsford Smith across the Pacific Ocean from the US in 1930s.
Helping to restore this are some young local air force cadets, some who one day... if they persue their aviation interests like all the volunteers at HARS have for years and years - may end up been part of the flying operations of either the warbird or civil museum fleet in the long term future.....only time will tell.
