A place where restoration project-type threads can go to avoid falling off the main page in the WIX hangar. Feel free to start threads on Restoration projects and/or warbird maintenance here. Named in memoriam for Gary Austin, a good friend of the site and known as RetroAviation here. He will be sorely missed.

running changes

Just a brief update - have gone to a one piece engine turned cowl, improved wheels, more aileron throw and numerous smaller detail improvements with more on the way. She is slowly but steadily improving and will plan on an improved prop and some more original/replica detail pieces.

Have Finally tweaked the rigging after discovering a mistake in how it was initially assembled - so, it now actually flies terrific, and speed at 1/2 throttle is in the 85 mph IAS range and three quarter throttle well above 90 near 100.
As an added bonus, here is a photo of my friend Chip Burt's freshly finished RNAS marked Airdrome Sopwith Pup, powered by the 7 cylinder Rotec, getting ready to go out for a flight.
