We are in need of a new rudder for our PT-19 Cornell LN-BIF, "Spirit of Little Norway". The rudder was damaged on last year's last landing, when the plane was on its way to winter storage :( Anyone know where we can get one?

Sincerely,
Christian Semcesen

I have three rudders in stock. All three need overhaul. I can let Mark D from here on the board look at them to give you an expert opinion if you want, and in fact I recommend it. They are about mid way down the page here:

We are primarily looking for one that will bolt on with a minimum of work needed, as we need the plane operational by April or May at the latest. How much work is needed on the one that is in the best condition? Other than the obvious fabric covering of course :)

Corrosion control, bearings, and a good paint job is needed. Basically, a complete overhaul. As I said, I can get it to Mark D from here on the board to evaluate it for you. He also can do the work. I can crate it and ship it after that. Just let me know.

Talked to the other guys in the club. We broke the old rudder due to tail wheel shimmy, and as such we are in need of a new tail wheel assembly, or at least parts of it. Got any of those? :) I think we're going for the rudder in the best condition, and we'll combine it with parts of the old one, as it's not entirely destroyed. Got any higher-resolution pics of that one? Especially of the lower section.

BTW, thanks for the help so far :)

Sorry, no tail wheel parts right now. I'll be at the warehouse in the next few days and will get better photos of what I have. Once again, I highly recommend using Mark D from here on the board to look at these items for you.

Sounds good. Will you let me know on here when you've got some more pics? :)

Regards,
Christian
