Great pictures of the Russian Knights team in their Su-27's flying with Iranian F-14's and F-4 while returning from an airshow in Bahrain. 8)

Well, I guess the Iranians still do have some F-14's flying. I thought they quit flying them years ago due to lack of spares.

They just lost one (and 2 pilots) last week:

Yes they still have F-4Es and Ds. They bought 80 F-14s and have more of them flying than we might think.

Flying is one thing, I wonder how many of the systems are actually working. IE radar, missiles.

There was a brand new, one test flight only, Iranian F-4 in the back of the main hangar at McDonnell in St. Louis when I moved there in 1990. A buddy took me to see the factory, or where I could go, I wonder where it went?

Considering they have their own nuclear program ill bet they can maintain the Toms systems.

Sad that the only way to see a flying Tomcat is in Iran.

They have quite a number of F-14s that are fully operational. They have even modified a couple to carry HAWK SAMs (one under each wing....Read: Anti-AWACS). They probably had some help from the (former) Soviets, as they gave them one.
